About Synbiotics AB

Synbiotics AB

Synbiotics AB is a Swedish research-based company founded in 1999. It was founded by researchers and Professor Stig
Bengmark from Lund University together with Arla Foods. The company is privately owned and headquartered in
Lomma, outside Lund. Its operations are focused on developing advanced synbiotic formulations for medical and
clinical applications.

At the core of the companys operations is the Synbiotic 2000 research platform. A patented synbiotic formulation
that combines five probiotic bacterial strains with four prebiotic fibres. The combination has been developed to
create a synergistic effect in which the bacteria are both supplied and given optimal conditions to establish
themselves in the gut environment. The included strains were selected after extensive screening focused on
survival in the gastrointestinal tract, colonization capacity, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Synbiotics ABs products have been evaluated in several preclinical and clinical studies in areas. Such as surgery,
trauma, liver cirrhosis, and acute pancreatitis. The studies show, among other things, reduced infection levels,
reduced inflammation, and improved clinical outcomes. The most recent research also includes studies on people
with neurological impairments, representing a new field of application for synbiotic interventions.

The company holds patent protection for the composition and use of Synbiotic 2000 and positions itself at the
intersection of clinical nutrition and microbiome-based therapies.

Synbiotics AB is the parent company of Super Synbiotics AB and exclusively licenses its technology for
commercial use within the consumer segment. Visit supersynbiotics.se to learn more.
